Davagh Night Enduro

1 Nov 2014

Following on from last weeks heroics at the sleeve martin slaughter Vinny Bradley and Stephen Law headed to more familiar turf this weekend for the Davagh Night Enduro.  Organiser Mickey Regan used the familiar format from the already successful series this time with the added twist that riders bombed down the tails sans daylight.  This was the first nocturnal enduro event ever held in Northern Ireland, aimed at intermediate to advanced riders.  As this event fell on Halloween weekend some of the riders appeared in even more strange and unusual clothing than usual, riders were encouraged to compete in fancy-dress an opportunity too good too miss in Vinny's opinion!  Leaving the trail head with Stephen in a skeleton costume the boys tore up the infamous widow maker and had the 5 stages under their belt in just over an hour!  Not that it was an evening for hanging around making idle conversation, the 80+ brave souls in attendance were treated to a wetter evening than the trick or treaters endured the previous day!  Despite the poor conditions the lads rode well, Vinny finished in the top half a good result for his first night ride of the year in a field of riders that were separated by just 2minutes, Stephen as usual was in cracking form taking 3rd place with a time just over the 19minute mark.  Well done lads!
