A note from Jim.

jus want to say a big thank u to everyone who helped out today at my charity cycle 50mls for 50yrs, was so nervous this morn hoping all wud go ok but we pulled it of an even weather was super thanx again to everyone to the next time ta

Editor’s note.

This was a fantastic sportive.  It was a brilliantly selected route and the whole event was well organized, from the reception before the run,  the wee wraffle, the snacks and the meal afterwards.  And don’t forget the motorbike marshals – they managed the traffic for us as we scooted through all the wee towns and villages, making us all feel really special.

Well done to Jim for having the foresight and conviction to make this all happen.

============

To celebrate his 50th birthday,  Jim Bradley has organized a charity cycle – "Fifty Miles for Fifty Years”.

The event takes place on Sunday, 29th June 2014.

Since joining the Carn Wheelers a few years ago, Jim has been rarely absent from the peloton for the Sunday and Wednesday club cycles.

Jim is requesting that participants make a donation of £10.  All proceeds of this event will go to Marie Curie Cancer Care plus Diabetes UK – Jim’s family has been effected by these two illnesses and so both charities are close to his heart.

The cycle leaves EJB Car Sales, (just outside Garvagh on the Swatragh Road) at 9am.

The route includes Maghera, Draperstown, Desertmartin, Magherafelt, Hillhead, Bellaghy, Portglenone, Kilrea , Ahadowey and Garvagh.

All Carn Wheelers are encouraged to support this very worthy event.
We will incorporate this cycle into our Sunday run for that day,  meeting up at the rec as usual at 8am, and then pedal over to EJB’s in time for the 9am start.
Of course,  people are free to make their own way to the starting point on the morning if that suits better.
And, as the route sticks to fairly local locations,  there will be opportunities for anyone who wants to cut short their cycle and make it back home early.

See you all there.
