Lakelands XC

Lakelands CC hosted the first XC race of 2014. There was a good turn out for the event. Course was a mix of tarmac, gravel lanes, natural forest trails and grassy fields. Also some off camber muddy sections. Carnwheelers youth lined up in under 8s race with Eimer Skelly taking first place. Ryan Skelly took the line in the under 12s and finished 3rd. A step up this year from the under 10s. Niamh Skelly also moves up this year to under 16s and was in the mix with the boys. With Niamh been the only girl and completing 3 laps of the tough adults course took the podium to receive her well just reward. Finally the seniors took the line in the A and B race. Gareth Skelly for Carnwheelers in the B race finished strong to completed 4 tough laps of the senior course. Taken an hour and a quarter to complete.
