Marc Heaney to compete at Youth Games

2 Sep 2014
Carn Wheeler's young superstar Marc Heaney will travel to Manchester this Thursday morning to represent Ulster as part of the track cycling team at the Sainsbury's 2014 Uk School Games.

Marc will compete along with his Cycling Ulster comrades in the prestigious National Cycling Centre Velodrome. The velodrome is home to British Cycling and UCI pro's Team Sky, here many of the worlds top riders hon their skills and break world records. Marc and his team mates will compete over three days of intense competition in front of a 3,500 crowd against athletes from all over England, Scotland & Wales at this prestigious youth event.

Marc will do battle on the very same 250 meters of Siberian Pine where titans of the sport including Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish have claimed gold. Following on from recent success at the track Nationals in Sundrive Velodrome, Dublin, in July where Marc collected 3 silver medals and the Interprovincial two weeks ago where he collected another 2, the team are hoping to build on their success this year by returning from their crusade to the mainland with more precious metal.

On behalf of the entire club we would like to wish Marc and the Ulster team the very best of luck, go get em!
